I have always been a “gym” person, but after my first son was born almost 8 years ago, I found it difficult to fit it into my routine. It took 3 kids and about 6 years later for me to discover FitnessMD!
I started running in 2011, doing a few 5&10k races. Around that same time, several friends had joined FitMD and constantly raved about it. In May 2012 I took the plunge and signed up for my free trial. In all honesty, my original plan was to join for 3 months or so to “get my body back”, maybe get some good tips on run-training, and be done with it. It only took about a week for me to be hooked! In the beginning I was only able to come 3-4 days a week, but pretty soon I was accommodating my work schedule to allow myself to come 6 days a week. I was and am seriously addicted! I love that the trainers always push me hard and make me work beyond what I think I am capable of. I continue to become stronger, and my running time is always improving. I think I’m most proud that my pre-kid jeans fit (with no muffin top!), and that I’m frequently stopped by people who comment on my “guns”
This year I set a goal to run a ½ marathon every month. So far it’s only March and I’ve already run 5 official races, including 2 in one weekend and one day doing a double duathlon (run/bike) after a ½. I am surrounded by supportive people with similar fitness goals, and I am so grateful to FitnessMD for inspiring and encouraging me!
